A bylaw that could allow dogs in the heart of a Taranaki town is now out for public consultation.
As part of the Draft Control of Dogs Bylaw 2020, the Stratford District Council is proposing leashed dogs be allowed along Broadway and Prospero Place.
The draft bylaw can be picked up from the council offices, its website or the Stratford library.
Submissions are encouraged by the council and must be handed in by Thursday April 23 at 4.30pm.
Council will then convene a hearing, which it intends to hold on May 19, and oral submissions are welcomed.
