A dog walker who allegedly kicked another dog in the face, knocking out the animal’s teeth has been charged after an investigation into animal cruelty.
The 63-year-old man was walking his dog through Sydney’s CBD near the Rocks at 10pm on Tuesday.
He approached a woman who was sitting on a bench on the corner of Kent and Argyle Street with her two dogs Sootie and Timmy.
The pair could be seen on CCTV having a heated argument before the man’s dog began growling at the other animals.
Sootie reportedly barked back at which point police allege the man kicked the dog in the face, knocking out its front row of teeth.
He also allegedly grabbed the woman’s phone and threw it on the ground, stomping it before walking away.
He was arrested yesterday and charged with malicious damage and offensive behaviour.
The dog walker was released on bail to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court early next year.
Police say Sootie is expected to make a full recovery.
Police released an image to the public to identify the alleged offender
